New England Recruiting Battalion

 Welcome

Dear Soldier and Family Members:

Congratulations on your assignment to the New England Recruiting Battalion, one of eight Battalions in the 1st US Army Recruiting Brigade.

Our Battalion encompasses the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Eastern Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.  Headquartered at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, the Battalion is comprised of six companies and 28 Recruiting Centers, stretching from the coast of Rhode Island to the Canadian border.  Fort Meade, Maryland is the Army installation providing military pay services to the Battalion.  The Human Resources Center of Excellence in Fort Knox, KY provides personnel service.  Area military installations that provide medical and other limited support services are: Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine; Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts; and the Naval Education Center in Newport, Rhode Island.

New England is a vacationer and sportsman’s paradise.  The numerous lakes and beaches provide excellent fishing, boating, and swimming.  Mountain areas offer an abundance of hiking, biking, and skiing trails and superb opportunities for camping and hunting.  Rich with history, the area provides many educational opportunities for the whole Family.

You may contact the Personnel Human Resources Assistant, or Adjutant at (207) 438-8598.  They will provide you with your sponsor’s information and your pinpoint assignment to your place of duty.   It is imperative you understand pinpoint assignments are not guaranteed until you in-process.  Consequently, no inbound Soldier is authorized to purchase a home or sign a lease prior to in-processing.

Your sponsor will assist you with questions concerning transportation, medical care, or other concerns prior to your arrival.  Please ensure you stay in contact with your sponsor and notify them of any special circumstances such as a Family Member enrolled in Exceptional Family Member Program, a Spouse enrolled in college, etc., prior to your arrival.

Again, congratulations on your assignment to the Battalion.  We look forward to meeting you and having you as a member of our team.

PATRIOTS PRIDE! PATRIOTS WIN!

Welcome to the Team!

    Sincerely,
