U.S. Army adds Korea to its list of growing guaranteed duty locations

The. U.S. Army has added Korea to the growing list of guaranteed assignment locations applicants may select when using the Army’s duty station of choice enlistment incentive, bringing the total count to 12 locations.

The Army has more than 250 vacancies across 11 different military occupational specialties available in Korea as part of this enlistment option.

These occupations range from infantry to Special Forces and careers in the information technology field.

The location has been added to the previously announced locations, which include Hawaii; Germany; Fort Carson, Colorado; Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Washington; Fort Bliss and Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Polk, Louisiana; Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort Drum, New York; and installations in Alaska. There are several thousand positions for new recruits seeking guaranteed assignment at these locations.

Many applicants have the opportunity to use this enlistment option and combine it with other available incentives, which could mean up to $50,000 in bonuses or up to $65,000 in student loan repayment.
