Staff Sgt. Verne Conant is a native of Billerica, Massachusetts and graduated from Shawsheen Valley Regional Vocational High School in 2014. He joined the Army January 12, 2015, and was assigned to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Service Rifle Team May 1, after he completed Infantry OSUT training at Fort. Benning.
Conant began competitively shooting in 2010 and has already earned both the Distinguished Rifleman’s Badge and Presidents Hundred Tab prior to joining the military. Conant has been a firing member on numerous record setting Interservice, National, and Long-Range teams.
His awards include Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2), Good Conduct Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terror Ribbon, Distinguished Rifleman Badge, and President’s Hundred Tab.
