BATON ROUGE RECRUITING BATTALION COMMANDER

Lt. Col. Adam M. Marsh

Lt. Col. Adam Marsh was born in New Orleans, La. and grew up in Ocean Springs, Ms. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1992 and completed basic training, Infantry Advanced Individual Training, and Airborne School at Ft. Benning Ga. Upon Completion of the Ranger Indoctrination Program he was assigned to CO A, 3/75th Ranger Regiment where he served as an ammunition bearer, M-60 machine gunner, Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Weapons Squad Leader. He was selected for assignment with the 75th Ranger Regimental Reconnaissance Detachment where he served as an RTO, Scout, Lead Scout, Reconnaissance Team Leader, and Assistant Operations Sergeant. He was then assigned to the 6th Ranger Training Battalion in Eglin AFB, Fl. where he served as a Ranger Instructor and Primary Instructor for the Weaver River mission.  He applied to Officer Candidate School and received his commission in December 2004.           

Marsh is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College with a master’s in Military Operational Art and Science. He is also a graduate of the MCCC, IOBC, OCS, Ranger School, ANCOC, BNCOC, PLDC, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Military Freefall School, Military Freefall Jumpmaster, Jungle Warfare School, and DOD High-Risk SERE. 

Among his awards and badges are The Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster. The Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, The Army Commendation Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, The Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), The Army Expeditionary Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, The War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, The Ranger Tab, Jumpmaster Badge Military Freefall Jumpmaster Badge, Pathfinder Badge, The Expert Infantryman’s Badge, The Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Korean Jumpmaster Wings, Canadian Airborne Wings, British Airborne Wings, and Belgium Airborne Wings.

Marsh’s combat deployments include Somalia (1993), Kosovo (2000), Iraq (2005), and Afghanistan (2012).
