Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Shateria Rahming

Command Sergeant Major Shateria Rahming, a native of Miami, Fl., enlisted in the U.S. Army as a motor transport operator during her senior year at Miami Northwestern High School in 1997.

Upon completion of initial entry training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., she was assigned to the 28th Transportation Battalion in Manheim, Germany.

From December 1999 to 2001, she served as a squad leader for the Base Support Company, 4th Base Support Battalion, Combat Service Support, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.

CSM Rahming’s next assignment was as a squad leader in the 2d Infantry Division, Company B, 702d Main Support Battalion, at Camp Nimble, Korea.

In February 2003 she transitioned to Fort Eustis, Va., where she was an Army motor vehicle instructor and senior license examiner in the 89th Transportation Company. In 2004 she deployed to Iraq where she provided local and line-haul support to the 122d Corps Support Command. Towards the end of her deployment, she submitted a request to become an Army Recruiter.

CSM Rahming was assigned to the Jacksonville Recruiting Battalion in January 2006 and the North Dade Recruiting Company in 2008. She assumed responsibility of the Miami Recruiting Company in Jun 2010. She later became the Master Trainer for the 1st Recruiting Brigade. CSM Rahming was the AR Operations NCOIC for the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion prior to attending the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Upon completion of the Sergeants Major Academy, CSM Rahming served as the Operations Sergeant Major for the 5th Recruiting Brigade.

Command Sergeant Major Rahming holds an Associate Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Strayer University. She is a graduate of all Army Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System courses. In addition, she is a graduate of the Motor Transport Operator Course, Hazardous Materials and Fuel Handler Course, US Army Retention and Recruiter Course, Guidance Counselor Operations Course, USAREC First Sergeant Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 68).

Her military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (5th award), Army Commendation Medal (6th award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 3), Combat Action Badge, and the Army Superior Unit Award.
